HTCIF 2nd edition approved!
Entry Feed TrackbackAfter reviewing the current “How to Cheat in Adobe Flash CS3″, Focal Press has approved the writing of the 2nd edition! This means a total of 320 pages from the current 270. It will allow me to add more content and expand on existing examples. I’m excited about this because it will allow me to go into more detail for the examples that need it and I have plans to add more mobile content, a chapter devoted to Flash and 3D (including Swift 3D) and Flash CS4 animation features. It will also allow me to correct some of the mistakes in the 1st edition that slipped through the cracks the first time around :p
It also means a brand new cover design - which is always fun.

Wow what a very nice news Chris, I already have your first book and I really liked, and now that a second is on the way… For when is the release date?

Congratulations Chris make that money! I will be the first one to get this book so hope you spend my money wisely lol. What mistakes was there on the first one? I didn’t notice any except spelling errors but thats no big deal. Will this book have a full lne up of fla files to disect as well?

Thanks Gary
Well, there was a reference from an early chapter on making text appear to write itself using a mask to a more advanced technique in chapter 10. Well, chapter 10 became the chapter on AS and didn’t include the advanced text animation.
There were a handful of typos and some keyboard shortcuts were incorrect. Also, a couple of source files (extensions) weren’t on the CD and there was an empty folder there as well. Minor stuff.
The 2nd edition will include all the same source files as the current edition plus more - all new topics and examples will have more FLA files added to the CD respectively.

Thanks Robert,
there is no release date yet - probably not until the spring at least. I’ll blog it for sure.
