This is instantly one of my favorite characters from you already Chris. Although my opinion changes everytime I look at any of your other characters. I think that I am just awed by the simplicity of your Character designs. As far as HTCIF CS4 I really hope you break the mystery of using After effects with Flash, and atleast give us an example of how to work with them. Noone seems to be revealing anything right now. Keep up the great work and BTW this Caveman needs a wife and some Cave babies.

CS4??? I'm jealous! I read awesome things about Flash in CS4 (maybe through a link from this site? don't remember) There were a few Flash developers (engineers?) talking about the new, amazing features. I don't remember what the IK feature was. Are you feeling like a kid at Christmas with a new toy right about now? :)

Hi TM, the next book will be the 2nd edition of HTCIF. It will include an additional 50+ pages of content. I plan on adding the 7 principles of animation but I really want to add a fully rigged Flash character - complete with all the nested parts the way it usually done by the big studios. Hence the caveman character. I am also testing Flash CS4's IK feature using this character :)

Actually, your first book really covers it allot. I had completely skipped over those sections initially, being so new to Flash. (that darn purple bunny is giving me the evil eye like, "stop asking stupid questions!". Yes, I see, answers all around me. Sometimes I ask before I research. The keyboard is RIGHT HERE. :P

Hi Chris, Would you say your next book is primarily about character animation techniques, or is that just one section of the book? I've been messing around with my own (20 year old) character, but it's not very believable, to say the least (I think it would have to be my only focus to get it the way I want it) Just wondering - it's all good stuff you put out there. :)
